Logique&#8230; M\u00eame constat qu\u2019hier : l\u2019assistance est malheureusement encore clairsem\u00e9e en ce d\u00e9but de festival, les deux premiers jours ont marqu\u00e9 les corps et les esprits et le remplissage de l\u2019Arena s\u2019en ressent sur les premiers groupes de l&rsquo;affiche. Les pr\u00e9sents auront eu raison en tous les cas : SDC d\u00e9roule un set d\u2019excellente facture, men\u00e9 par des musiciens solides et \u00e9nergiques. Mais l\u2019intention ne suffit pas, et c\u2019est musicalement que le groupe marque avant tout, piochant dans diff\u00e9rentes tendances musicales pour proposer au final une musique hybride, diversifi\u00e9e, faite de plans carr\u00e9s et nerveux et de passages plus d\u00e9li\u00e9s et propices aux s\u00e9quences plus ambianc\u00e9es voire planantes. Le groupe nous propose m\u00eame de l\u2019in\u00e9dit (\u00e0 venir sur son nouvel album) et finissent leur set en apoth\u00e9ose sur un d\u00e9luge de jam psyche tr\u00e8s cool. style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>STONEFIELD<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Encore un groupe \u00ab all female \u00bb ce week-end, c\u2019est tr\u00e8s bien ! Mais notre int\u00e9grit\u00e9 est sans failles : la discrimination positive a ses limites, et on a bien l\u2019intention de se montrer juges impartiaux de la prestation des jeunes Stonefield. Les dames entrent donc sur sc\u00e8ne toutes v\u00eatues de sortes de vieux tailleurs ann\u00e9es 70, et entament un set qui s\u2019annonce plut\u00f4t enthousiasmant a priori. Comme on s\u2019y attendait, point de sludge core ou de brutal death en magasin, mais plut\u00f4t un heavy rock vintage qui s\u2019av\u00e8re de tr\u00e8s bonne facture. Le clavier apporte un r\u00e9el plus, en particulier sur des passages instru o\u00f9 le kraut rock n\u2019est jamais tr\u00e8s loin\u2026 Les musiciennes s\u2019entendent bien sur sc\u00e8ne mais communiquent peu avec le public, et restent relativement statiques sur sc\u00e8ne, dans leur trip. Le chant est globalement partag\u00e9 entre Amy \u00e0 la batterie et occasionnellement Sarah (claviers), leurs deux coll\u00e8gues prenant volontiers part aux ch\u0153urs. l\u2019air libre alors que Stonefield termine \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9rieur pour la premi\u00e8re des trois performances prenant place sur le bateau de cette \u2013 d\u00e9j\u00e0 \u2013journ\u00e9e de cl\u00f4ture. Les premiers \u00e0 s\u2019\u00e9lancer sur cette sc\u00e8ne seront les gars de Boston qui assurent la premi\u00e8re partie sur la tourn\u00e9e europ\u00e9enne de The Skull, lesquels se produiront quelques heures plus tard en Main Stage. Leur heavy rock vintage passe plut\u00f4t bien l\u2019\u00e9preuve du live m\u00eame dans les conditions particuli\u00e8res de cette petite estrade ext\u00e9rieure. Nous n\u2019allons pas nous voiler la face : il n\u2019y avait pas grand monde autour de la sc\u00e8ne pour assister \u00e0 la performance de la formation US qui sortira sa prochaine production (\u00ab Light In The Wire \u00bb) un mois apr\u00e8s ce show. L\u2019opus \u00e0 venir est cependant d\u00e9j\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent sur le setlist avec \u00ab Visions From Beyond \u00bb, \u00ab Nobody Else \u00bb, \u00ab It All Comes Back \u00bb et \u00ab Coming Through \u00bb. Pour le reste, le quatuor piochera deux titres du long-format \u00ab Shadow Hymns \u00bb disponible depuis trois ans. Pas des plus pugnaces, ce concert ne sera pas notre coup de c\u0153ur de la journ\u00e9e, mais il a eu le m\u00e9rite d\u2019animer un peu les festivaliers demeur\u00e9s loin des concerts \u2013 \u00e0 l\u2019ext\u00e9rieur \u2013 accusant les exc\u00e8s des jours pass\u00e9s (les rockers c\u2019est plus ce que c\u2019\u00e9tait).<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter \u00e0 quoi s\u2019attendre avec un concert d\u2019Electric Citizen : le quatuor de Cincinnati allait vraisemblablement encore une fois nous proposer un set dont la sc\u00e9nographie tournerait autour de leur frontwoman, Laura Dolan, excentrique et charismatique vocaliste, aujourd\u2019hui toute de cuir noir v\u00eatue (on aura du mal \u00e0 r\u00e9fr\u00e9ner les r\u00e9f\u00e9rences sado maso de nos tr\u00e8s d\u00e9vergond\u00e9s coll\u00e8gues gratte-papier !). Du coup, on n\u2019a pas \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9\u00e7us ! Autant la miss fait le show et capte tous les regards (elle \u00e9volue sur toute la surface de la sc\u00e8ne, harangue le public, danse, se jette au sol, implore, se contorsionne\u2026 un spectacle \u00e0 elle seule !), autant derri\u00e8re, les zicos ont beau lever le pied c\u00f4t\u00e9 entertainment, \u00e7a envoie du lourd, et en particulier du c\u00f4t\u00e9 du batteur Nate Wagner, qui frappe ses futs comme une grosse mule. Le heavy rock tr\u00e8s vintage du groupe, en droite provenance des 60s bien tass\u00e9es, fait le job. La petite surprise est de retrouver un cinqui\u00e8me \u00e9l\u00e9ment ajout\u00e9 au line up du groupe que l\u2019on a toujours connu quatuor : ce soir une clavi\u00e9riste occupe le c\u00f4t\u00e9 droit de la sc\u00e8ne. En pure franchise, dire qu\u2019elle fut d\u00e9cisive dans la sc\u00e9nographie ou m\u00eame dans le spectre sonore serait assez loin de la v\u00e9rit\u00e9\u2026 mais peut-\u00eatre que le groupe \u00e0 la fin du set indoor pour retrouver un vrai groupe \u00e0 l\u2019air libre qui lui aussi voit son horaire de passage \u00eatre anticip\u00e9. Il est important ici de souligner que les formations qui auront jou\u00e9 le dimanche sur le Boat auraient tout autant pu se produire sur la Main Stage vu le style pratiqu\u00e9, la petite renomm\u00e9e dans notre galaxie ainsi que leur haute ma\u00eetrise : The Great Machine ne d\u00e9rogeant pas \u00e0 cette r\u00e8gle, ils allaient nous faire plaisir pour le dernier show dans ce lieu en foutant un boulet \u00e9norme. Le trio isra\u00e9lien fait clairement partie des d\u00e9couvertes de cet \u00e9v\u00e9nement et il vaut son pesant de cacahu\u00e8tes sur disque aussi. Comme Nick Oliveri avant eux, se sentant d\u00e9solidaris\u00e9 du public, le gratteux et le guitariste vont aller se coller aux barri\u00e8res du pont sup\u00e9rieur pour augmenter la proximit\u00e9 avec les nombreux festivaliers qui s\u2019agitaient un peu plus que d\u2019habitude \u00e0 leurs pieds (le batteur \u00e9tait plus emmerd\u00e9 pour se bouger \u00e0 l\u2019avant de la sc\u00e8ne). La veste improbable du guitariste (maquill\u00e9 pour l\u2019occasion) et la tenue de sc\u00e8ne \u00e9nergique de ces \u00e9nergum\u00e8nes contribua fortement \u00e0 la frustration qui fut la n\u00f4tre au moment de les d\u00e9laisser pour aller rejoindre la p\u00e9nombre ambiante \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9rieur o\u00f9 nos faci\u00e8s paraissaient moins marqu\u00e9s (comme en bo\u00eete et c\u2019est plus facile pour p\u00e9cho selon les sp\u00e9cialistes dont nous ne faisons pas partie). Nous constaterons \u00e0 cette occasion que la buvette int\u00e9rieure \u00e0 quelques pas de la Main Stage n\u2019ouvrirait pas de la soir\u00e9e et ce fait est probablement \u00e0 mettre en relation comme un couple divorc\u00e9 dont nous, autres, fans du groupe, serions les enfants : les familles se sont recompos\u00e9es (avec des musiciens diff\u00e9rents autour des fondateurs) et l&rsquo;on n&rsquo;aura plus jamais exactement le Trouble d&rsquo;\u00e9poque. The Skull a pour lui un argument qui \u00e0 la fois force le respect et g\u00e9n\u00e8re une l\u00e9gitime frustration : il se d\u00e9tache progressivement de Trouble, et le set d&rsquo;aujourd&rsquo;hui ne fait pas exception. Avec seulement deux albums au compteur, le quintette am\u00e9ricain remplit n\u00e9anmoins 90% de sa set list de ses propres compos&#8230; autant pour les fans de Trouble ! En l\u2019occurrence, c&rsquo;est son dernier rejeton \u00ab\u00a0The Endless Road Turns Dark\u00a0\u00bb qui se taille la part du lion avec cinq extraits ; pas pour nous d\u00e9plaire, on a bien aim\u00e9 le disque, et des titres comme \u00ab\u00a0Ravenswood\u00a0\u00bb et son riff ravageur ou encore le morceau titre de l&rsquo;album (qui para\u00eet acc\u00e9l\u00e9r\u00e9 en version live) passent bien l&rsquo;\u00e9preuve du live. Mais les titres issus de l&rsquo;album pr\u00e9c\u00e9dent ne s&rsquo;en sortent pas mal, avec un \u00ab\u00a0For Those Which are Asleep\u00a0\u00bb costaud, et un \u00ab\u00a0Send Judas Down\u00a0\u00bb assez cool, aux limites de l&rsquo;\u00e9trange quand Eric Wagner quitte la sc\u00e8ne sur le break instru au milieu du morceau de mani\u00e8re assez peu th\u00e9\u00e2trale, laissant ses musiciens improviser une jam sympa mais un peu d\u00e9cousue, avant de remonter sur sc\u00e8ne cl\u00f4turer le titre quelques minutes plus tard. Symptomatique de Wagner, vocaliste mythique au timbre toujours aussi chaleureux mais au comportement sc\u00e9nique toujours un peu d\u00e9cal\u00e9&#8230; Heureusement \u00e0 ses c\u00f4t\u00e9s c&rsquo;est du solide, et les zicos font le spectacle (en plus d&rsquo;assurer techniquement). Les transis du doom band culte retrouveront comme d&rsquo;habitude une unique reprise en fin de set, et ce soir c&rsquo;est au somptueux \u00ab\u00a0The Tempter\u00a0\u00bb qu&rsquo;incombe cet honneur, gros kif, mais trop court&#8230; Mais on ne boudera pas notre plaisir apr\u00e8s ce set classieux et efficace.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-12911\" \u00e9taient attendus par certains agit\u00e9s (qui auraient mieux fait de se rader t\u00f4t pour mater Black Tusk) afin de foutre un peu de violence dans la place. S\u2019ils en ont foutu c\u2019est du c\u00f4t\u00e9 des photographes en alternant subtilement le rouge (c\u2019est d\u00e9gueu pour tirer des clich\u00e9s potables) et le bleu (c\u2019est vomitif question rendu de photos). Ils d\u00e9livr\u00e8rent un show assez apais\u00e9 dans le registre post-ce-que-vous-voulez. Ce n\u2019est clairement pas typ\u00e9 stoner musicalement parlant, mais c\u2019est clairement les m\u00eames bip\u00e8des qui \u00e9coutent ce genre de formation m\u00eame si LDC n\u2019arrive pas au niveau de combos comme Cult Of Luna en live ! Le batteur, plac\u00e9 au centre sous leur \u00e9tendard, a agi tel le m\u00e9tronome tout au long d\u2019une performance plus abordable que pr\u00e9vu qui vit le combo de M\u00fcnster d\u00e9baller sa technicit\u00e9 une heure durant dans la capitale allemande. Tr\u00e8s pointue, et moins offensive qu\u2019esp\u00e9r\u00e9, la prestation de haut vol de Long Distance Calling \u00e9tait sublim\u00e9e par des lights qui d\u00e9touraient les musiciens affair\u00e9s sur leurs instruments ; la bizarrerie r\u00e9sidant, comme bien souvent avec ce type de fanfare, dans la pr\u00e9sence de nappes synth\u00e9tiques et l\u2019absence de clavier sur sc\u00e8ne. Concert hors sujet, mais concert de bonne facture avec le chef d\u2019\u0153uvre \u00ab Black Paper Planes \u00bb qui demeure envo\u00fbtant 10 piges apr\u00e8s sa sortie et son contemporain fort style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>WOVENHAND<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Le meneur de revue du quatuor, franchement pas stoner (c\u2019est la journ\u00e9e d\u00e9cid\u00e9ment), s\u2019est radin\u00e9 sur sc\u00e8ne v\u00eatu tel qu\u2019il est repr\u00e9sent\u00e9 sur \u00ab Star treatment \u00bb et, malgr\u00e9 tout le respect que nous avons pour le visuel de cet album, sur sc\u00e8ne \u00e7a faisait un peu Karl Lagerfeld de superette. Ce n\u2019est pas le point le plus saillant de ce show, mais \u00e7a place un peu le contexte apr\u00e8s presque trois jours de festival. Les quidams pr\u00e9sents dans la salle attendaient soit un gros d\u00e9lire psych\u00e9d\u00e9lique soit une grosse mandale dans la gueule afin de chercher leurs ratiches dans l\u2019obscurit\u00e9 pour les sortir de leur torpeur. Ils ont eu un show \u00e9trange : ni hard, ni franchement mou du genou, ni carr\u00e9ment chiant, ni hyper envo\u00fbtant ; ils ont eu Wovenhand version 2019 qui n\u2019a ni le verni m\u00e9lancolique intimiste des albums sortis alors que le nom du groupe s\u2019\u00e9crivait en deux mots, ni le charme d\u00e9sesp\u00e9r\u00e9 ainsi qu\u2019envo\u00fbtant de \u00ab Puur \u00bb. C\u2019est dommage car certains attendaient beaucoup de cette performance et nous avons eu la sensation qu\u2019ils ne demeuraient dans la salle que pour assister au show de Om qui allait mettre un point final \u00e0 cette \u00e9dition. Les marchands animant le march\u00e9 couvert adoss\u00e9 \u00e0 la salle avaient, pour leur part, pli\u00e9 bagage et ceux qui n\u2019avaient pas effectu\u00e9 leurs emplettes (sauf les t-shirts du fest qui de toutes mani\u00e8res n\u2019\u00e9taient pas arriv\u00e9s \u00e0 temps pour \u00eatre commercialis\u00e9s durant l\u2019\u00e9v\u00e9nement) allaient le regretter : l\u2019avenir Om, derni\u00e8re t\u00eate d&rsquo;affiche du week-end. Quand la seconde moiti\u00e9 fondatrice du Sleep matriciel monte sur sc\u00e8ne, le temps s&rsquo;arr\u00eate un peu, reconnaissons-le. Une petite intro am\u00e8ne rapidement \u00e0 rentrer dans le tr\u00e8s th\u00e9\u00e2tral \u00ab\u00a0Gethsemane\u00a0\u00bb issu du dernier album du trio. La sc\u00e8ne est baign\u00e9e dans un bleu froid et statique (aucun mouvement de lumi\u00e8re pendant l&rsquo;heure et demie de set&#8230; et on ne peut pas dire que ce soient les musiciens qui vont animer la sc\u00e9nographie ce soir !) ; pleine concentration sur la musique donc&#8230; en particulier pour Cisneros himself ! Dire que le grand gourou occulte est un introverti est un euph\u00e9misme : il joue dans son coin, ferme les yeux 90% du temps (le reste du temps il regarde son p\u00e9dalier, ses coll\u00e8gues, presque jamais son instrument), ne communique jamais avec le public&#8230; Les autres musiciens assurent : m\u00eame si la richesse du clavier n&rsquo;est pas honor\u00e9e par un mix un peu trop port\u00e9 sur la basse, les instrumentistes sont dou\u00e9s (mais discrets eux aussi), en particulier Emil Amos, en d\u00e9monstration derri\u00e8re ses f\u00fbts alliant diversit\u00e9 du jeu, puissance, subtilit\u00e9&#8230; Malheureusement pour les puristes, l&rsquo;essentiel du set est bas\u00e9 sur les deux derni\u00e8res productions de Om &#8211; rien de dramatique tant ces opus sont bons et surtout tant les morceaux sont coh\u00e9rents sur un set qui d\u00e9veloppe une ambiance bien particuli\u00e8re, entre d\u00e9tente et immersion musicale, dont les influences orientales \u00e9mergent souvent (comme sur le doublon \u00ab\u00a0Cremation Ghat I &amp; II\u00a0\u00bb).<br \/>\nDe mani\u00e8re tr\u00e8s habile, la tonalit\u00e9 du set change sur la fin : avec un \u00ab\u00a0Meditation is the practice of death\u00a0\u00bb plus proche des d\u00e9buts du groupe, Cisneros opte pour un son de basse plus satur\u00e9 et cinglant, qui se confirme sur le puissant \u00ab\u00a0Thebes\u00a0\u00bb, pour aboutir en conclusion au seul extrait de \u00ab\u00a0Pilgrimage\u00a0\u00bb, \u00ab\u00a0Bhima&rsquo;s Theme\u00a0\u00bb, conclusion assez habituelle des sets de Om, une sorte d&rsquo;apoth\u00e9ose, qui voit notamment sur son final Amos d\u00e9rouiller son kit jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 renverser sa caisse claire en plein jeu ! Pour autant, le public est moins nombreux sur la fin, une partie ayant probablement eu du mal \u00e0 tenir cette dur\u00e9e d&rsquo;un set aussi calme apr\u00e8s trois jours de fatigue, et ayant pr\u00e9f\u00e9r\u00e9 aller boire quelques derni\u00e8res bi\u00e8res dans le tr\u00e8s agr\u00e9able Biergarten en ce d\u00e9but de nuit&#8230; Cisneros quitte la sc\u00e8ne comme il est arriv\u00e9, sans un mot, cl\u00f4turant un peu abruptement ces trois jours de d\u00e9bauche musicale&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-12936\" trois jours, les souvenirs marquants sont nombreux&#8230; et les d\u00e9ceptions rares, voire inexistantes !
