Je t&rsquo;avais dit que je partais pendant quinze jours en studio, non ? \u00bb. Voil\u00e0 r\u00e9sum\u00e9e la douloureuse histoire des musiciens qui ont r\u00e9alis\u00e9 ce disque. Une histoire assez ordinaire pour des musiciens ordinaires qui cohabitent avec une personne du sexe oppos\u00e9, voire du m\u00eame sexe. Sauf que l\u00e0, il s&rsquo;agit d&rsquo;anciens membres d&rsquo;Eyehategod. Qu&rsquo;on a du mal \u00e0 imaginer en gens ordinaires. Donc m\u00eame ces b\u00fbcherons l\u00e0 rencontrent des probl\u00e8mes de couple, qui, comme ils le disent assez justement, tient de la lutte. Au final, ils nous livrent un superbe album ancr\u00e9 dans le quotidien le plus brut de leur vie de cingl\u00e9s de la Nouvelle-Orl\u00e9ans. C&rsquo;est gras, c&rsquo;est lourd, c&rsquo;est noir, c&rsquo;est moite. \u00c7a sent vraiment la transpiration des aisselles m\u00eal\u00e9e \u00e0 celle des doigts de pieds, sans \u00eatre grunge pour autant, attention ! A moins que \u00e7a ne sente la vase. \u00c7a ne se passe pas au m\u00eame endroit, mais les images qui me viennent \u00e0 l&rsquo;esprit sont celles du film D\u00e9livrance. Une ambiance tr\u00e8s malsaine accentu\u00e9e par des passages d\u00e9cal\u00e9s, quelquefois jazzy, assez oppressants. Du bayou power rock qu&rsquo;ils appellent \u00e7a. \u00c7a me va. La m\u00e9taphore adh\u00e8re tr\u00e8s bien \u00e0 la sueur. Les riffs des Suplecs n&rsquo;ont plus grand chose \u00e0 voir avec ceux d&rsquo;Eyehategod. Tout cela est bien plus rock&rsquo;n&rsquo;roll \u00e0 la seventies. Toutefois, il est ind\u00e9niable qu&rsquo;ils ont gard\u00e9 ce go\u00fbt pour les rythmiques s\u00e9v\u00e8rement plomb\u00e9es. L&rsquo;impitoyable laminoir s&rsquo;est fait un peu plus fin, plus a\u00e9r\u00e9 (l\u00e9g\u00e8rement). En fait les Suplecs sont comme des alligators. Ils glissent dans les eaux saum\u00e2tres et opaques du bas Mississipi, toujours pr\u00eats \u00e0 mordre.
