Le musicien de Phazm est barbu et crasseux ou n&rsquo;est pas, point. Dubitatif, je jette la galette dans la platine et me mange le premier riff en pleine poire.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Phazm \u00e7a d\u00e9pote. A d\u00e9conseiller \u00e0 ceux qui trouvent Nebula trop heavy. Tr\u00e8s vite, on sait o\u00f9 on met les pieds, car \u00ab\u00a0How to become a God\u00a0\u00bb commence par un riff que ne renierait pas Pantera, lanc\u00e9 par un harmonica lancinant qui fend l&rsquo;intro pour mieux d\u00e9gager le chemin \u00e0 Pierrick (de Scarve) et ses vocaux gutturaux. Le bonhomme \u00e9ructe sur tout l&rsquo;album, ce qui pourra en \u00e9nerver plus d&rsquo;un : s&rsquo;il ne tombe pas dans les travers du Death pur et dur, il \u00e9volue quand m\u00eame dans des sonorit\u00e9s bien thrash. N\u00e9anmoins, son chant glaireux, gentiment \u00e9raill\u00e9 au Jack D et \u00e0 la binouze, marque cet album de son empreinte.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Dans un deuxi\u00e8me temps, c&rsquo;est la lourdeur du riff qui marque : m\u00eame si le tempo est souvent un peu trop rapide \u00e0 mon go\u00fbt (suivi par une double grosse caisse un peu trop \u00ab\u00a0metal\u00a0\u00bb), la qualit\u00e9 du riff est bien l\u00e0, et les breaks, nombreux et originaux, sont bien amen\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Pas mal de chansons sortent du lot, mais l&rsquo;ensemble montre quand m\u00eame une belle homog\u00e9n\u00e9it\u00e9. Sans paradoxe, Phazm gagne aussi ses lettres de noblesse dans les morceaux les plus \u00ab\u00a0d\u00e9cal\u00e9s\u00a0\u00bb. Ironiquement, par exemple, le titre \u00ab\u00a0Sabbath\u00a0\u00bb ressemble \u00e0 tout sauf \u00e0 Sabbath, sorte d&rsquo;instru \u00e0 l&rsquo;harmonica parfum\u00e9 \u00e0 la gaudriole. Idem pour \u00ab\u00a0Lorelindorenan\u00a0\u00bb, un tr\u00e8s joli instrumental qui pue la bayou ass\u00e9ch\u00e9, avec ses harmonies de gratte acoustique et son harmonica larmoyant. Sans parler du bluffant (car poisseux, glauque, torride parfois) \u00ab\u00a0Damballah\u00a0\u00bb, lard\u00e9 de grattes acoustiques, aux limites du primitif ethnique.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Bref, je conseille vivement cet album aux amateurs de Down, pas effray\u00e9s par le metal bien frapp\u00e9, tendance thrashisant, aux influences sudistes bien cintr\u00e9es.
