Enfin ! Plus de deux ans apr\u00e8s leur premier album, High On Fire daigne nous gratifier d’une dose suppl\u00e9mentaire de leur ‘heavy-stoner-doom’ essentiel. La bande \u00e0 Matt Pike (souvenez-vous, les l\u00e9gendaires Sleep, c’\u00e9tait son groupe) revient donc en grande forme sur un label (Relapse) qui, d\u00e9cid\u00e9ment, prend un tournant tr\u00e8s excitant. D\u00e9crire la musique du POWER (d\u00e9sol\u00e9, dans ce cas l\u00e0, le minimum est de l’\u00e9crire en majuscules) trio n’a pas beaucoup de sens, d\u00e8s les premiers riffs, vous serez abasourdis, tout simplement, et la vie aura une nouvelle signification pour vous. Vous aurez enfin compris. Peu de groupes sont aussi ‘heavy’ (au sens premier du terme), et pourtant aussi percutants que HOF : les compositions sont accrocheuses, les riffs plomb\u00e9s, le son dantesque, le chant terrifiant, les rythmiques vari\u00e9es. HOF est d’ailleurs probablement le seul groupe ‘affili\u00e9 doom’ dont il est courant de fredonner les chansons sans s’en rendre compte apr\u00e8s avoir \u00e9cout\u00e9 l’album.
