Apr\u00e8s quelques coups de ma\u00eetres (Yawning Man, Orquesta Del Desierto, Viaje A 800, Fooz) et d&rsquo;autres sorties plus dispensables (Ten East) ils nous balancent cette bien agr\u00e9able galette, \u00e0 savoir le second album de Glow, quintette madril\u00e8ne ma foi bien excitant. Alone joue ainsi parfaitement son r\u00f4le, en alternant sorties de groupes internationaux, et profond soutien de la sc\u00e8ne espagnole, qui le vaut bien, semble-t-il !<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Glow, donc. Second album (jamais entendu le premier, d\u00e9sol\u00e9). Du tout bon. Du lourd aussi, genre early Sabbath rencontre the Obsessed ; les riffs lourds du premier, le son gras et r\u00eache du second. 8 chansons, presque 70 minutes, pas la peine de chercher tr\u00e8s loin : si vous n&rsquo;attendez d&rsquo;un album qu&rsquo;un flot ininterrompu de notes balanc\u00e9es \u00e0 200 \u00e0 l&rsquo;heure, passez votre chemin. Si en revanche vous aimez le doom \u00ab\u00a0accessible\u00a0\u00bb, les vraies chansons, servies par des riffs tranchants et une rythmique solide et groovy, Glow me semble tout indiqu\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">En effet, Glow finalement se d\u00e9tache avec bonheur du doom \u00ab\u00a0pur et dur\u00a0\u00bb, et trouvent leurs marques en s&rsquo;inspirant de leurs anciens \u00ab\u00a0classiques\u00a0\u00bb (voir les 12 minutes du pachydermique \u00ab\u00a0Doomdriver\u00a0\u00bb, ses riffs lents et lourds), pour y injecter des touches bien \u00e0 eux, un peu comme des groupes comme Solace peuvent aussi le faire. Exemple, cet orgue Hammond qui vient ponctuer les titres les plus pesants en leur donnant une fra\u00eecheur in\u00e9dite, presque d\u00e9cal\u00e9e. Les influences ne manquent pas, et le groupe les assume le plus sainement du monde. Pourquoi tenter \u00e0 tout prix de sortir de sentiers d\u00e9j\u00e0 emprunt\u00e9s par d&rsquo;illustres pr\u00e9d\u00e9cesseurs, au risque de tomber dans les travers de l&rsquo;exercice de style st\u00e9rile, alors que l&rsquo;on peut se r\u00e9approprier un genre, le mener vers des chemins in\u00e9dits, en l&rsquo;enrichissant d&rsquo;autres influences, d&rsquo;autres id\u00e9es.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Rendons aussi hommage aux musiciens, et notamment au chanteur, Ralph, dont le timbre d\u00e9licieusement rocailleux et le coffre puissant apportent la touche finale \u00e0 un ensemble par ailleurs irr\u00e9prochable.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">On a beau analyser, triturer le skeud dans tous les sens, au bout d&rsquo;une dizaine d&rsquo;\u00e9coutes, ce qui reste, c&rsquo;est une poign\u00e9e de compos passionnantes, dans le sens o\u00f9 l&rsquo;on ne s&rsquo;en lasse pas : on \u00e9coute et r\u00e9-\u00e9coute sans se lasser, en se laissant bercer et emporter par ces refrains m\u00e9morables et ces riffs qui tuent.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Bref, les extr\u00e9mistes du doom (vade retro satanas) ne seront sans doute pas emball\u00e9s par cette vague de fra\u00eecheur et e na\u00efvet\u00e9 apport\u00e9e au genre.
