Troisi\u00e8me album (quatre, si l’on compte le live) pour ce trio am\u00e9ricain en passe de s’imposer, avec la m\u00eame indolence apparente qui caract\u00e9rise sa musique, en tant qu’une formation d\u00e9finitivement unique et incontournable. Le groupe creuse son sillon avec une d\u00e9termination for\u00e7ant le respect. Imperturbable, il forge une sorte de hard rock psych\u00e9d\u00e9lique constamment renouvel\u00e9 par une cr\u00e9ativit\u00e9 exemplaire. On songe \u00e0 Led Zeppelin et \u00e0 Jimi Hendrix. On saisi l’architecture blues derri\u00e8re chaque morceau. Des structures rythmiques r\u00e9p\u00e9titives, magn\u00e9tiques et hypnotiques sur lesquelles se posent de subtiles mais distordues complaintes guitaristiques. Et la voix si particuli\u00e8re de Jason Simon, nasillarde et nonchalante. Fragile et attachante. Le climat de ce disque se veut plut\u00f4t temp\u00e9r\u00e9. Qu’on ne s’attende donc \u00e0 aucune d\u00e9flagration stoner. Il s’agit plut\u00f4t de se laisser porter par la douce torpeur qui en \u00e9mane. Le temps n’est pas \u00e0 la bourrasque s\u00e8che et tranchante des Terres australes, mais bien plut\u00f4t au d\u00e9lice d’une bise m\u00e9diterran\u00e9enne. Une invitation \u00e0 la r\u00eaverie. Transcendante et immanente. Entre-deux narcotique. Une navigation vers des champs inexplor\u00e9s de la sensualit\u00e9.
