Il m’a fallu surmonter l’artwork dans la plus belle tradition black metal nordique, le logo ambigu du label repr\u00e9sentant des runes ainsi que certains titres de morceaux comme ‘Thule’ ou ‘Desolate North’ pour me r\u00e9soudre \u00e0 laisser cette production p\u00e9n\u00e9trer ma platine laser afin d’en d\u00e9couvrir le contenu. Initialement destin\u00e9e \u00e0 servir de freesbee car je la pensais remplie \u00e0 raz-bord de metal scandinave martel\u00e9 \u00e0 grands coups de double-p\u00e9dale, cette production pourrait int\u00e9resser certains tordus fr\u00e9quentant occasionnellement ces pages.Seconde oeuvre d’un Nord-am\u00e9ricain tortur\u00e9, ce cd est un curieux collage de textures musicales que son g\u00e9niteur qualifie de doom fun\u00e8bre influenc\u00e9 par les \u00e9l\u00e9ments de m\u00e8re nature ; nous retrouvons donc en arri\u00e8re fond des bruits de pluies et autres gazouillis d’oiseaux. Assez digestes et l\u00e9g\u00e8res, les 8 plages composant ce projet discographique se succ\u00e8dent agr\u00e9ablement sans pour autant mener l’auditeur au suicide comme je l’ai craint en lisant la bio annex\u00e9e. Incroyablement lents, les tempi se veulent plus lents que les battements du c\u0153ur humain car les humains ne sont pas le sujet trait\u00e9 par le bonhomme, il se consacre dans son \u0153uvre mystique aux \u00e9motions d\u00e9gag\u00e9es par toutes les choses nous entourant en ce bas monde.M\u00eame les non-adeptes d’\u00e9soterisme nordique peuvent trouver leur compte sur cet album tourment\u00e9 sur lequel les notes sont dilu\u00e9es avec parcimonie dans un maelstr\u00f6m de textures synth\u00e9tiques planantes qui ne sont pas sans rappeler certains d\u00e9lires instrumentaux d’Isis. Bien que proche du doom, cet album n’a absolument rien \u00e0 voir avec les compos rock des cadors du style ; il flirte avec le bruitisme sans en avoir le c\u00f4t\u00e9 prise de t\u00eate et demeure bien moins sombre qu’il ne le laisse pr\u00e9sager.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
