Nouvellement sign\u00e9 sur le label \u00e0 la t\u00eate d’hydre, Big Business est le m\u00e9fait de deux acteurs de la sc\u00e8ne de rock de Seattle. A ma gauche Jared Warren de Karp, Tight Bros et The Whip \u00e0 la basse et \u00e0 ma droite Coady Willis de Dead Low Tide, Broadcast Oblivian et The Murder City Devils \u00e0 la batterie. Apr\u00e8s avoir sillonn\u00e9 une partie du territoire am\u00e9ricain, la structure bic\u00e9phale est all\u00e9e s’enfermer avec Phil Ek en ao\u00fbt dernier pour nous livrer ce ‘Head For The Shallow’ en d\u00e9but d’ann\u00e9e.Musicalement parlant nous nous trouvons sur des terres encore tr\u00e8s peu explor\u00e9es aux confins de certaines d\u00e9rives du hardcore et d’un stoner doomisant flirtant en permanence avec le chaos sonique. Vrombissant un peu \u00e0 la mani\u00e8re de Mot\u00f6rhead, sur une trame musicale tr\u00e8s sourde, martel\u00e9e par une rythmique au bord de l’apoplexie, les huit plages de cette production sont dans un style qui n’est pas sans rappeler High On Fire ou certaines signatures du label qui les sort ainsi que certains groupes de chez Relapse.Ne vous fiez pas au sifflement d\u00e9sinvolte qui sert de pr\u00e9lude \u00e0 ce cd, ces lascars ne sont pas l\u00e0 pour plaisanter. Toujours borderline, les plages se succ\u00e8dent dans le cr\u00e9neau choisi par le groupe sans jamais \u00eatre de p\u00e2les copies les unes des autres. Que ce soit avec ‘Easter Romantic’, dont la ligne de basse n’est pas sans rappeler ‘Ace Of Spade’ de la bande \u00e0 Lemmy ou ‘Focus Pocus’ et son refrain a\u00e9rien, ce disque fait mouche en \u00e9voluant continuellement dans un registre tr\u00e8s \u00e9loign\u00e9s des sentiers battus. Ma pr\u00e9f\u00e9rence va \u00e0 ‘Eis Hexe’, composition rapide et ultra-carr\u00e9e qui synth\u00e9tise tous les atouts de la formation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
