Mais qu’est ce qui va diff\u00e9rencier ce nouvel opus des autres, voil\u00e0 bien la premi\u00e8re question qui me vient \u00e0 l’esprit au moment de mettre Punk Rock Guilt dans la platine. Il faut dire que Brant n’est pas r\u00e9put\u00e9 pour r\u00e9volutionner son style d’un album \u00e0 l’autre et certains y voient m\u00eame des r\u00e9p\u00e9titions, non sans avoir forc\u00e9ment tort. J’\u00e9tais de plus un peu dubitatif lorsque j’ai appris que Brant nous sortait en 2008 un album enregistr\u00e9 en 2005. J’ai m\u00eame un moment eu l’id\u00e9e que le gars nous refilait ses fonds de tiroirs comme on dit.
\nFinalement, apr\u00e8s quelques \u00e9coutes, le constat est sans surprise. Sans bouleverser ses habitudes, l’ami Brant nous livre un disque agr\u00e9able \u00e0 l’\u00e9coute, bien r\u00e9alis\u00e9 et renfermant quelques chansons sympathiques. Peut \u00eatre moins r\u00e9ussi que le savoureux Saved By Magic, Punk Rock Guilt n’en reste pas moins un achat indispensable pour tout fan et pourquoi pas votre premier album de Brant Bjork si vous devez le d\u00e9couvrir apr\u00e8s avoir lu ces lignes.
\nUne mention sp\u00e9ciale pour la production de l’album que je trouve vraiment excellente. Le son, la balance entre les instruments, les arrangements, tout ici est efficace et sans fioritures excessives.
\nTout comme Local Angel fut un tournant dans la carri\u00e8re de Brant, Punk Rock Guilt le sera aussi. Album enti\u00e8rement enregistr\u00e9 par lui, nouveau label (Duna Records a cess\u00e9 d’exister), et m\u00eame nouveaux guitariste et batteur pour l’accompagner, voil\u00e0 bien des changements qui d\u00e9bouchent sur une nouvelle phase dans sa carri\u00e8re.
\nMais \u00e0 l’instar de Local Angel qui fut un succ\u00e8s mitig\u00e9, punk Rock Guilt b\u00e9n\u00e9ficie d’atouts plus solides pour s’assurer l’adh\u00e9sion des fans et donner \u00e0 une poign\u00e9e de nouveaux venus l’envie de se plonger dans la discographie compl\u00e8te de Mr Cool.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
