Tout d&rsquo;abord, et comme a son habitude, l&rsquo;objet en lui m\u00eame parfaitement soign\u00e9. Packaging sobre, pochette de toute beaut\u00e9.Le contenu maintenant. D\u00e8s les premi\u00e8res mesures de Glimmer, l&rsquo;auditeur d\u00e9colle gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 cette alliance entre riffs tranchants et passages a\u00e9riens de toute beaut\u00e9. L&rsquo;impression se confirme avec The Creeper, deuxi\u00e8me titre de la galette qui a lui seul vaut le d\u00e9tour. Il faut attendre les premi\u00e8res minutes d&rsquo;Ephemeral pour retrouver plus de classicisme (riff assassin et break du plus bel effet). Et c&rsquo;est ainsi que d\u00e9fileront les sept premi\u00e8res plage de ce skeud.Bref, le savoir faire du Pelican est toujours l\u00e0, et condens\u00e9 dans des morceaux n&rsquo;exc\u00e9dant pas les huit minutes, le rendant ainsi plus facile \u00e0 apprivoiser que par le pass\u00e9.Grosse surprise enfin, le huiti\u00e8me et dernier morceau de cet album, le Final Breath final qui contient des vocaux inspir\u00e9s par un po\u00e8me de Robert Burns. Grosse surprise, mais surtout peut-\u00eatre seule faute de go\u00fbt sur cette galette, surtout pour les inconditionnels du groupe car ce premier essai vocal emp\u00eache de se concentrer sur l&rsquo;essentiel : la musique du combo. Une musique riche, dense, et qui s&rsquo;autosuffit.
