sHEAVY est un groupe qui force le respect. Bon an, mal an, ils alignent les disques, et en profitent pour se partager, avec des groupes comme Nebula, l’\u00e9tendard du bon vieux stoner comme on l’aime. Rien que pour \u00e7a, on devrait s’estimer heureux. Mais quand ils d\u00e9barquent avec un skeud comme ce petit bijou, forc\u00e9ment, on remercie le ciel qu’en plus de tout, ils aient gard\u00e9 le talent et l’inspiration. \u00ab\u00a0The Machine That Won The War\u00a0\u00bb est inspir\u00e9 du bouquin du m\u00eame titre, par Isaac Asimov. Je ne jurerai pas qu’il s’agit d’un concept album, mais \u00e7a en a tout l’air ! Pourquoi pas apr\u00e8s tout ? En tout cas l’exercice de style est payant.<\/p>\n

A noter que \u00ab\u00a0The Machine\u00a0\u00bb marque un triple pas de g\u00e9ant dans la carri\u00e8re du groupe : l’album marque l’arriv\u00e9e \u00ab\u00a0officielle\u00a0\u00bb de Kevin Dominic derri\u00e8re les f\u00fbts (qui ressemble un peu au Mario de Nintendo), ainsi que le choix du groupe d’ajouter un second guitariste dans leur ex-quatuor. Une excellente initiative, qui se pr\u00eate tout \u00e0 fait, notamment en live, \u00e0 enrichir et alourdir le son du groupe. Bien vu. Le troisi\u00e8me pas de g\u00e9ant, c’est cette d\u00e9cision d’arr\u00eater avec les pochettes de CD foireuses !! Celle de \u00ab\u00a0The Machine\u00a0\u00bb ne casse pas trois pattes \u00e0 un canard, mais regardez les pr\u00e9c\u00e9dentes, vous noterez l’\u00e9volution.<\/p>\n

Niveau zique, sHEAVY fait ce qu’il a toujours su faire : accoucher de riffs divins, les compl\u00e9ter de soli somptueux (voir \u00ab\u00a0The Gunfighters\u00a0\u00bb – vraiment, quelle bouff\u00e9e d’air frais que ce second gratteux !), et entrecouper \u00e7a de breaks vicieux qui feraient groover un macchab\u00e9e (\u00ab\u00a0Humanoid\u00a0\u00bb). Le tout, \u00e9videmment, est port\u00e9 par la voix de Stephen Hennessey (qui s’est fait re-pousser les tifs, tiens, pour de l’info, c’est de l’info coco !), irrempla\u00e7able et impeccable. Inutile de vous la faire, Hennessey est n\u00e9 avec un organe clon\u00e9 sur celui d’Ozzy (je parle de ses cordes vocales, idiots !), il peut pas changer comme \u00e7a. Mais la nouveaut\u00e9, c’est que la musique de sHEAVY, sans r\u00e9volutionner ce que l’on aime chez eux, se densifie, devient plus lourde, heavy, quoi. Et l\u00e0, on sent quelques relents Sabbathiens plut\u00f4t sympathiques, des petits bouts de chansons, insidieux, qui font plaisir \u00e0 entendre (le riff d’intro de \u00ab\u00a0Dawn of the black orchid\u00a0\u00bb ou celui de \u00ab\u00a0Here falls the shadow\u00a0\u00bb devraient vous filer la chair de poule).<\/p>\n

Au global, sHEAVY vient d’accoucher d’une galette costaude, un album m\u00fbr. L\u00e0 o\u00f9 ils nous avaient habitu\u00e9s \u00e0 des collections de petites p\u00e9pites, cet album d\u00e9file d’une traite et ne d\u00e9bande pas, un vrai bulldozer, qui ne regarde jamais sur les c\u00f4t\u00e9s.<\/p>\n

A noter :<\/b> il existe une \u00e9dition avec DVD de ce skeud, ne la manquez pas : pour quasiment le m\u00eame prix, vous aurez un DVD live de pas moins de 20 titres : non content d’enquiller en concert tous les morceaux de \u00ab\u00a0The Machine\u00a0\u00bb, sHEAVY y balance au milieu quelques \u00ab\u00a0oldies\u00a0\u00bb bien sentis, pioch\u00e9s ici ou l\u00e0 dans leur irr\u00e9prochable discographie. Film\u00e9 avec plein de cam\u00e9ras, m\u00eame si c’est pas vraiment une superproduction, ce concert vaut sans h\u00e9sitation l’achat du CD !
