Il faut dire que \u00ab\u00a0l&rsquo;enfant du pays\u00a0\u00bb, D\u00e4tcha Mandala, a fort logiquement choisi sa seconde maison, le Kraka, pour organiser la \u00ab\u00a0release party\u00a0\u00bb de son nouvel album. Le quatuor men\u00e9 par Lo (de Loading Data) vient \u00e0 Bordeaux pour la seconde fois en moins de deux mois &#8211; en termes d&rsquo;activit\u00e9 sc\u00e9nique, Patr\u00f2n c&rsquo;est un peu \u00ab\u00a0l&rsquo;effet bouteille de ketchup\u00a0\u00bb : rien, rien, rien, rien, puis plein d&rsquo;un seul coup ! Pas de quoi bouder notre plaisir, bien au contraire : on avait beaucoup aim\u00e9 son premier effort (il y a presque 4 ans) et il nous manquait la confirmation sc\u00e9nique. Le line up voit Lo \u00e9paul\u00e9 de trois musiciens aguerris, et il saute tr\u00e8s vite aux yeux et aux oreilles que le set va tenir la route ! Les compos groovy du disque passent comme une lettre \u00e0 la poste, et le public, s&rsquo;il ne conna\u00eet pas forc\u00e9ment le combo, tombe vite sous le charme. Pour un set de premi\u00e8re partie, le groupe b\u00e9n\u00e9ficie d&rsquo;une cinquantaine de minutes qu&rsquo;il met judicieusement \u00e0 profit pour l\u00e2cher quelques unes de ses compos les plus catchy (\u00ab\u00a0Very Bad Boy\u00a0\u00bb, \u00ab\u00a0Who Do You Dance For\u00a0\u00bb, \u00ab\u00a0Room with a View\u00a0\u00bb&#8230; manquait plus que \u00ab\u00a0How to Land\u00a0\u00bb !), pour finir par deux in\u00e9dits : l&rsquo;un plut\u00f4t \u00e9nerv\u00e9, et l&rsquo;autre plus \u00ab\u00a0classique\u00a0\u00bb au regard des standards du groupe, une sorte de br\u00fblot dansant absolument infectieux, qui semble r\u00e9pondre au sobriquet de \u00ab\u00a0Vegas\u00a0\u00bb, sur lequel Lo se d\u00e9partit m\u00eame de sa guitare. Le son est impeccable, le groupe est solide, les compos fonctionnent parfaitement en live, et le public est content. tabouret et trois guitares acoustiques. Pour autant, la transition est brutale, Johannes entamant son set dans une approche ultra-minimaliste : le l\u00e9gendaire compositeur-producteur s&#8217;empare d&rsquo;une petite \u00ab\u00a0cigar-box guitar\u00a0\u00bb pour interpr\u00e9ter en \u00e9lectro acoustique, seul, une poign\u00e9e de chansons. La majorit\u00e9 du set se d\u00e9roulera ainsi, l&rsquo;interpr\u00e8te encha\u00eenant les chansons en bord de sc\u00e8ne, souriant et communiquant avec le public, dans la p\u00e9nombre, avec la plupart du temps juste une poursuite sur lui. Mais la magie op\u00e8re compl\u00e8tement. Il faut dire que le gaillard a pour lui une discographie massive et solide, et le luxe de piocher \u00e0 loisir dans l&rsquo;ensemble de sa carri\u00e8re, solo, en groupe ou pour d&rsquo;autres artistes, et \u00e7a d\u00e9file : sa propre discographie solo, son premier groupe culte Eleven, l&rsquo;album solo de Chris Cornell (un tr\u00e8s touchant \u00ab\u00a0Disappearing One\u00a0\u00bb), etc&#8230; L&rsquo;interpr\u00e9tation est \u00e9videmment parfaite, \u00e0 l&rsquo;image du chant de Johannes, puissant et juste, aussi subtil et cristallin que son corps est massif. Une v\u00e9ritable le\u00e7on de pr\u00e9sence sc\u00e9nique, m\u00eal\u00e9e \u00e0 une qualit\u00e9 de compos bluffante. Un peu plus tard, le \u00ab\u00a0backing band\u00a0\u00bb de Patr\u00f2n vient ajouter profondeur et \u00e9lectricit\u00e9 \u00e0 une poign\u00e9e de compos suppl\u00e9mentaires (dont des titres de Eleven datant de plus de trente ans, qui n&rsquo;ont pas pris une ride), invitant m\u00eame Lo \u00e0 revenir sur sc\u00e8ne pour une interpr\u00e9tation de \u00ab\u00a0Hangin&rsquo; Tree\u00a0\u00bb (titre \u00e9crit par Johannes et Lanegan pour une Desert Sessions, mais popularis\u00e9 via la sortie par QOTSA) &#8211; une chanson dont vous n&rsquo;aurez pas de mal \u00e0 trouver des extraits sur les r\u00e9seaux sociaux, si l&rsquo;on en juge par le nombre de t\u00e9l\u00e9phones qui en quelques secondes ont jailli du public pour filmer tout ou partie de cet extrait (smiley d\u00e9pit\u00e9). encore une fois un changement et une pr\u00e9paration express de la sc\u00e8ne, <strong>D\u00e4tcha Mandala<\/strong>, les h\u00e9ros de la soir\u00e9e, crachent leurs premiers d\u00e9cibels un peu avant l&rsquo;horaire pr\u00e9vu. D\u00e9j\u00e0 vus ici ou l\u00e0 (et notamment sous la Valley au Hellfest pour un set haute \u00e9nergie qui a largement convaincu) on savait que le c\u00f4t\u00e9 dynamique du trio girondin \u00e9tait une sorte d&rsquo;assurance tous-risques. Et sur sc\u00e8ne, c&rsquo;est exactement ce qu&rsquo;il se passe : au taquet du d\u00e9but \u00e0 la fin du set, Nicolas (basse \/ chant) arpente la sc\u00e8ne de long en large, harangue le public, chante, saute&#8230; et ne rate pas une note de basse ! J\u00e9r\u00e9my n&rsquo;est pas en reste, et abat un gros boulot \u00e0 la gratte, devant un Jean-Baptiste souriant qui assure velu derri\u00e8re les futs. L&rsquo;alchimie est \u00e9vidente, et le rock du groupe trouve un \u00e9cho enthousiaste c\u00f4t\u00e9 public &#8211; rappelons que le trio \u00e9volue en terrain conquis, et le public leur mange dans la main. La set list est largement bas\u00e9e sur le nouvel album, \u00e0 juste titre au vu de la vocation de la soir\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p>Habitu\u00e9s que nous sommes dans ces pages aux lourds d\u00e9cibels, on trouvera quand m\u00eame parfois le classic rock du trio un peu l\u00e9ger en saturation&#8230; Mais reconnaissons qu&rsquo;on est dans un\u00a0 environnement musical dont on est moins coutumier, pas du tout d\u00e9plaisant. L&rsquo;ambiance g\u00e9n\u00e9rale est au sourire bienveillant, tendance <em>feel good<\/em> absolue (c&rsquo;est pas \u00e0 un concert de Weedeater ou d&rsquo;Eyehategod que le chanteur d\u00e9dicace une chanson, je cite, \u00ab\u00a0\u00e0 toutes nos mamans\u00a0\u00bb&#8230; ou alors pas pour de bonnes raisons&#8230;), signe si besoin d&rsquo;un concert enthousiasmant et r\u00e9ussi.<\/p>\n<p>La soir\u00e9e aura \u00e9t\u00e9 plaisante de bout en bout, l&rsquo;ambiance excellente, le public pr\u00e9sent en nombre&#8230; Sur sc\u00e8ne se sont encha\u00een\u00e9s des concerts vari\u00e9s, dans des styles musicaux\u00a0 diff\u00e9rents, avec \u00e0 chaque fois des \u00e9motions bien particuli\u00e8res.
