Il y a des groupes que l\u2019on ne conna\u00eet que \u00ab\u00a0de nom\u00a0\u00bb, des r\u00e9f\u00e9rences du genre cit\u00e9s au travers d\u2019interviews, de chroniques, de discussions et plus si affinit\u00e9s. Une r\u00e9f\u00e9rence c\u2019est in\u00e9vitable et en m\u00eame temps l\u2019offre musicale est tellement dense de nos jours que ces groupes restent dans un petit coin de notre esprit et nous voil\u00e0 bien incapable d\u2019avoir une once d\u2019id\u00e9e de ce \u00e0 quoi \u00e7a ressemble exactement. Heureusement pour nous (pour moi), Season of Mist a eu la bonne, que dis-je, l\u2019excellente initiative de faire rentrer dans son giron Weedeater. Dans la maison fran\u00e7aise depuis 2013, le trio sudiste voit aujourd\u2019hui ses albums ressortir remasteris\u00e9s et pour la premi\u00e8re fois en vinyle s\u2019il vous pla\u00eet.<\/p>\n

\u00a014 ans apr\u00e8s sa sortie originale, le premier album de Weedeater, intitul\u00e9 \u2026And Justice for Y\u2019All, d\u00e9marre avec\u00a0 gr\u00e2ce et \u00a0fraicheur (comprendre graisse et lourdeur). On ne s\u2019appelle pas Weedeater pour faire dans le point de croix et on n\u2019appelle pas son album ainsi pour disserter sur le sens de la vie . Ecoutez Weedeater ce n\u2019est pas p\u00e9n\u00e9trer dans un joli trip acidul\u00e9, on ne va pas vous compter fleurette dans le creux de l\u2019oreille. Non, on se fait un chemin \u00e0 travers les mar\u00e9cages et l\u2019herbe on la mange par les racines. Si le premier morceau \u00ab\u00a0Tuesday Night\u00a0\u00bb de son groove suintant se la joue instrumental, l\u2019entr\u00e9e du chant dans le blues crade de \u00ab\u00a0Monkey Junction\u00a0\u00bb vous cueille par surprise de son profond et vomitif \u00e9raillement. Si tu chantes de la m\u00eame fa\u00e7on chez toi, fais-le face \u00e0 tes toilettes ou un lendemain de consommation abusive de produits \u00e0 hauts effets \u00e9corcheurs.<\/p>\n

Avant d\u2019\u00eatre aspir\u00e9 par ce sludge mouvant, le goupe nous ass\u00e8ne un direct dans le bide sans transition avec \u00ab\u00a0Free\u00a0\u00bb aux relents hardcore. Premier effort de nos amis de Caroline du Nord avec pour seul ligne conductrice de partager un moment enfum\u00e9 en bonne compagnie. Les effluves de rock sudiste teint\u00e9s de blues, grill\u00e9s au bourbon bon march\u00e9 nous parviennent au milieu de la moiteur des riffs d\u2019une flagrante efficacit\u00e9. Sans r\u00e8gle, sans filtre, \u00e7a groove, \u00e7a swingue, \u00e7a rock, \u00e7a tabasse, bref en dix morceaux les gars se font plaisir sans pr\u00e9tention. Effectivement ce groupe est in\u00e9vitable, \u00e7a s\u2019enchaine sans faillir et ce trip boueux finira par bourdonner dans votre esprit. Production sign\u00e9e Billy Anderson, \u00e7a sonne comme \u00e7a devrait toujours sonner, le remastering ne d\u00e9nature en rien l\u2019\u0153uvre d\u2019origine mais au contraire la sublime, si l\u2019on peut user de ce terme pour ce type de son. Que les m\u00e9contents aillent se faire enfumer, les bienheureux eux se d\u00e9lecteront de ces massives volutes. Dixie, Shep et Keith appellent \u00e7a weed metal\u2026 tout est dit, il n\u2019y a plus qu\u2019\u00e0 se d\u00e9tendre et \u00e0 se vriller les tympans.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
