En cette \u00e8re du num\u00e9rique, il est bien rare de recevoir des CD promo \u00ab\u00a0physiques\u00a0\u00bb. Razor & Tie<\/em> se rappelle \u00e0 notre bon souvenir avec ce premier v\u00e9ritable live du combo texan\u00a0: Greetings From..<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Premier constat\u00a0: The Sword fait la part belle \u00e0 son(ses) dernier(s) opus en date (le High (Low) Country<\/em>) en d\u00e9laissant ses deux premiers albums (1 seul titre pour chacun des deux br\u00fblots du groupe) et en ignorant totalement le pas si vieux Apocryphon<\/em>. Si la d\u00e9marche sc\u00e9nique ressemble \u00e0 celle d’un Clutch (qui blinde ses setlists avec les titres de son dernier album en date), elle a de quoi d\u00e9stabiliser car nous \u00e9tions en droit d’attendre plus de cette premi\u00e8re retransciption live sur disque. Quid des b\u00fbches que sont \u00ab\u00a0Barael’s Blade\u00a0\u00bb, \u00ab\u00a0Freya\u00a0\u00bb ou encore \u00ab\u00a0How Heavy This Axe\u00a0\u00bb\u00a0?<\/p>\n

Fort heureusement, la qualit\u00e9 \u00ab\u00a0sonore\u00a0\u00bb est l\u00e0. La voix de J.D est limpidement fid\u00e8le \u00e0 elle m\u00eame, tandis que les riffs de Kyle Shutt font honneur au nom du groupe en tranchant tout ce qui passe \u00e0 port\u00e9e de main. Ainsi, les morceaux survivants de l’\u00e8re Trivett Wingo (\u00ab\u00a0Maiden, Mother & Crone\u00a0\u00bb, \u00ab\u00a0The Horned Goddess\u00a0\u00bb) font le job. Oui, mais…<\/p>\n

Deuxi\u00e8me constat, pour ceux qui ont eu la chance de voir le groupe en concert au d\u00e9but de sa carri\u00e8re, il manque \u00e0 ce Greetings From…<\/em> la puissance qui caract\u00e9risait les sets des texans et r\u00e9ussissait \u00e0 \u00e9lectriser la foule plus vite que ne le ferait une ampoule avec Claude Fran\u00e7ois. Le mix faiblard\u00a0 de ce skeud ne rend aucunement justice \u00e0 \u00ab\u00a0Tres Brujas\u00a0\u00bb par exemple. Niveau f\u00e9rocit\u00e9, \u00e7a tranche donc timidement et tient plus du couteau de cuisine que de l’\u00e9p\u00e9e de gladiateur. Quant \u00e0 cette \u00ab\u00a0foule\u00a0\u00bb\u00a0: on ne l’entend gu\u00e8re. Les quelques clameurs per\u00e7ues \u00e7a et l\u00e0 laissent \u00e0 penser que le groupe est soit un cover-band jouant dans les bars les plus reclus de la plan\u00e8te, soit juste mou-du-genou.<\/p>\n

Troisi\u00e8me et dernier constat, et non des moindres, avec 42 minutes et 10 secondes au compteur, la tentation est grande de consid\u00e9rer ce premier t\u00e9moignage live officiel comme un grand foutage de gueule. Avis plus que mitig\u00e9 donc pour le petit dernier des texans qui comblera difficilement les nostalgiques de l’\u00e8re pr\u00e9-Apocryphon<\/em>. A n’acheter qu’en cas d’absolue n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 ou si vous \u00eates convaincu que la carri\u00e8re de The Sword d\u00e9marre en 2015.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
